Saxon are an English heavy metal band formed in 1977. As one of the leaders of the new wave of British heavy metal, they had eight UK Top 40 albums in the 1980s including four UK Top 10 albums and two Top 5 albums. The band also had numerous singles in the UK Singles Chart and chart success all over Europe,Japan and success in the US. During the 1980s Saxon established themselves as one of Europe's biggest metal acts. They are considered one of the classic metal acts and have influenced many bands such as Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Pantera, Sodom.

Saxon make their return to the mountain this July with their only UK festival Appearance. Last performing in 2013, Saxon rocked us into the night under the watchful eye of 'the Eagle'. Biff told us: "It's really great to be asked back to Steelhouse Festival to headline for a second time. We're bringing the Eagle back to the mountain, so bring on the Heavy Metal thunder."

Sure to be a powerful return headline slot, fresh from their US "British Invasion" tour which includes a sold-out Vegas date, Saxon will be hitting us hard with tracks from their 2016 Battering Ram album, plus all the hits.

Metaltalk.net said of the 2013 headline performance "Saxon have got the bloody Eagle and pyro and full light show! It's their one UK festival show this year, after a gob smackingly awesome UK tour. Biff and the boys hit the stage, firstly regaling us with the sound checked 'Sacrifice' and 'Wheels Of Terror' before hit after Saxon hit. Crusaders of the Valleys, your time came tonight.

Crusaders, it's time once again.
